The Transformation Continues
Future exhibits will take visitors from the Ancestors’ Collection to more recent struggles for Nisga’a land, to the modern, self-governing Nisga’a Nation. These exhibits will celebrate both human and natural history through our enduring bonds to the land, river, and sea.
In the near future, the history of each item in the Ancestors’ Collection will be revealed. Through exhibit information panels, an audio guide, museum book, audio/visual presentation, and searchable database, these rich and interwoven tales will take visitors deep into traditional Nisga’a life and culture. This state-of-the-art facility will eventually include archival software systems, a library and teaching centre, ongoing cultural programming, and a gift shop showcasing Nisga’a art and artists. Special exhibits will open on an ongoing basis.
Hli Goothl Wilp-Adokshl Nisga’a will be renowned as a centre for research, learning, and cultural tourism in northwest British Columbia — a permanent home for the preservation and celebration of all that is Nisga’a.
